The popular live music pub is back with a bang after their refurbishment!
The Bedford has something to offer for everyone – whether you are looking for a venue for meeting mums in the area for lunch, or a casual drink with friends or live music.
The Bedford has a pub, club, restaurant, live music and entertainment venue plus 15 stunning boutique bedrooms. Live entertainment options include music, regular comedy nights, cabaret, dance lessons even speed dating! Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Eddie Izzard, Michael McIntyre and Frank Skinner have all performed at the Club Room and they continue to present a hot bed of up and coming creative talent.
There are five beautiful bars that serve finest artisan spirits, craft beers, cocktails, wine and Champagnes.
We got a chance to see the refurbished pub for ourselves when we went for lunch in March. The location is great, it is a short walk from the station. The pub is spacious with a lot of room for buggies and pushchairs. There were lots of families with little ones while we were at lunch. They have baby changing facilities, high chairs, colouring books and crayons. They have a children’s menu with all the favourites: fish fingers, pizza, pasta among others.
The lunch menu is extensive – it includes sharing boards, small plates and flatbreads, and standard gastropub fare including burger, chicken schnitzel, fish and chips, sandwiches. We loved the all day pizza menu, which you don’t see in many pubs! Have a sweet tooth? They have you covered- with delicious puds including chocolate brownie, apple crumble among others.
My husband and I had a lovely lunch – for appetizer, we had the flatbread with pesto, tomato and garlic and burrata with aubergine and tomato jam, which was absolutely incredible. I had the pumpkin ravioli with sage butter, parmesan and rocket and my husband had a plant based burger and chips. The meal was lovely and special shout out for the crispiest chips we have in a long time! Being vegetarians, we were happy to see the menu had lots of options for us. The icing on the cake was the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream which made us smile on a windy and col Thursday! The staff were friendly and attentive, and the interiors were warm and cozy.
