Belleville School is a large, vibrant and inclusive school at the centre of our local community with two sites, Webb’s Road and Meteor Street. In March 2022, it retained its Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ rating which it has held since 2007, continuing to provide an outstanding provision for the children and families it serves on either side of Clapham Common.
Belleville has a reputation for leading the way in educational development and a relentless drive for improvement, excellence and equality, delivering a quality first education to all the children in its care.
Children are happy and successful at Belleville and achieve well beyond the national average. About a third of their Year 6 leavers transfer to Ark Bolingbroke Academy (they are the largest feeder school) and a third to other state secondary schools, including into the selective stream at Graveney based on high test scores in the Wandsworth Test.
The final third take up places at independent schools including Alleyn’s, Dulwich College, Emanuel, James Allen’s Girls’ School, Putney High GDST, Streatham and Clapham High GDST, Trinity and Whitgift. In 2021, 90% of Belleville children who applied to an independent school received at least one offer of a place.
Belleville also offers wrap-around care with a breakfast and after-school club, extra-curricular clubs with over 50 options, a programme of visiting speakers and external trips including residential trips in Years 5 and 6, and sporting competitions and festivals with other local schools. They also have an established Year 4 music programme in partnership with Wandsworth Music where every child is offered the opportunity to learn an orchestral instrument and play in a musical ensemble.
Belleville welcomes children from all parts of the local community and are ready and experienced to help your child settle in quickly, whether they join the school in Nursery, Reception, or in Years 1 to 6 if there are places available.
Belleville is hosting two Open Mornings on Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 November from 9.15am to noon with the opportunity to visit both the Webb’s Road and Meteor Street sites and hear from the new Executive Headteacher, John Budden. To sign up, please visit: https://bit.ly/3CPJmNa
