Belleville Primary School

08/10/2026

Belleville School  is a friendly, successful state primary school at the heart of the local community, with two sites on either side of Clapham Common: Webb’s Road and Meteor Street. In March 2022, it retained its Ofsted Outstanding rating in all areas.

Belleville has a reputation for leading the way in educational development, offering a “highly ambitious curriculum” (Ofsted). As part of the Quality First Education Trust, its commitment to “Whatever it takes” ensures every child is supported and challenged to achieve their potential.

“Pupils are safe and thrive at Belleville. They engage positively with their learning and show maturity when working alone or with others.” (Ofsted)

While Belleville is a large school, they never lose sight of an individual child’s experience and wellbeing. Their CARE values encourage children to take responsibility for their learning, providing support and tools to develop these skills. With high expectations for behaviour, Belleville encourages children to reflect on whether they are ‘making the right choice’ and parents comment on how calm and focused the children are, even in the youngest years.

‘They are very well prepared for the next stages of their education.’ (Ofsted)

Pupils achieve well above the national average at both Expected Standard and Greater Depth. In 2026, Year 6 leavers progressed to a range of state and independent schools, including Bolingbroke Academy (as the largest feeder school), Graveney School’s selective stream, Alleyn’s, Dulwich College, Emanuel, JAGS, Putney High, Streatham & Clapham High, and Whitgift. Many pupils who apply to independent schools receive multiple offers and scholarships.

Belleville offers wraparound care from 7.30am to 6.30pm available for children from Nursery to Year 6 on both sites. It also offers more than 50 extracurricular clubs, residential trips, visiting speakers, educational visits, and sporting competitions and festivals with other schools.

Belleville recently achieved the Gold School Games Mark for its PE provision, and the Music Mark for the Ambition and Quality of its music provision. Through its Year 4 partnership with Wandsworth Music, every child learns an orchestral instrument, kindly supported by Belleville PTA. Specialist teaching is also provided in Art, French, ICT, Dance and Gymnastics.

Belleville is hosting Open Mornings on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 November at 9.15am, offering families the chance to visit both school sites and hear from Executive Headteacher, Toby Martlew, and Headteacher, Mary-Lyne Latour. To register, please complete the booking form.
