On September 22nd, Royal Trinity Hospice’s Family Walk & Fun Day returns and promises to be bigger and better than ever. The family day out is a great opportunity to get together with friends and family, soak up the carnival atmosphere and support a vital local charity at the same time.
The day kicks off at Royal Trinity Hospice on the edge of Clapham Common with participants taking on sponsored walks around Clapham Common and the wider local area (three route lengths are available to suit all abilities and ages), before returning to Trinity for an afternoon of family-friendly fun in their award-winning gardens.
The Family Walk & Fun Day, kindly sponsored by Knight Frank, is Trinity’s biggest community event of the year, and this year is set to be the biggest one yet.
Walkers will have a choice to join groups taking on 2, 5 or 8 mile routes around some of the most picturesque local spots. You can join the walk on your own, bring along family of all ages or get a whole team together to take on the challenge. All of the routes are suitable for buggies and dogs are encouraged!
After completing the walk, the Fun Day in Trinity’s two acre gardens will be full of live music, entertainers, magic shows, stalls and games. Delicious BBQ food will be up for grabs and a licensed bar will offer a range of options.
Trinity’s Family Walk & Fun Day is a fantastic community event, bringing together families and neighbours from across the local area for a day of family fun. To help raise vital funds for the hospice, Trinity is asking all walkers to pledge to raise at least £25 per adult. This year they hope to raise a huge £50,000, which would help fund one of Trinity’s incredible Community Nurse Specialists for a whole year.
Royal Trinity Hospice is the local hospice for south west and central London and provides skilled, compassionate palliative and end of life care to 2,500 patients each year. For their loved ones, Trinity is there at every step of the way offering emotional and bereavement support, including specialist bereavement support for children.
All of Trinity’s care is entirely free of charge, but as a charity, it can only continue to be there for those who need help with support from the local community and events such as the Family Walk & Fun Day. Every year they need to raise £10.5 million to keep supplement the funds they receive from the NHS, which accounts for just a quarter of what they need to raise annually.
Tickets for the Family Walk & Fun Day are £15 for adults and £5 for children ages 5-16 (children under five go free!). The cost of entry includes a t-shirt to walk in on the day and entry to the Fun Day.
Trinity is offering a special 10% discount for all Clapham Mums members – enter CLAPHAMMUMS when booking to claim your discount.
