Gambado

Well admittedly Gambado is not in Clapham but it is easily reachable and as we don’t have anything quite like it here, Gambado Chelsea – dubbed ‘London’s Premier Indoor Play and Party Centre’ – made the cut.

It’s an amazing place to have close by — especially on those long, dark days when you’ve read all the storybooks and completed all the puzzles in the house.

Gambado boasts one of the biggest play frames in London, as well as dodgems (which you can go on with your small toddler), a Tiger pots carousel and a junior climbing wall.

The play-frame includes sensory play, and over 110 different interactive pieces of equipment such as lazer games, interactive play panels, slides and obstacle courses all designed to give your children plenty of exercise (and wear them out!)

Toddlers under 2 have their own separate area, complete with ball pit and slide, so they don’t get knocked over by the bigger children and it also includes a state-of-the-art sensory room for babies.

There are also special toddler sessions run weekly, which teach tots new skills, while parents can have a sit down and a cup of tea. You can even escape to an adult lounge with free wifi and internet access, magazines and newspapers.

The Yum Yum cafe provides a host of options to feed adults and children; from healthy options to treats, great coffee and muffins.

It’s also a great location for a very special birthday party. With VIP areas for the parents to relax in our team will ensure a smooth and fun party for your VIP – there are plenty of rave reviews about the entertainments teams.

Under-ones are allowed in for free but then it starts to get expensive, at £7.75-£7.95 for children aged one and two and £9.75-£9.95 for those aged between three and 12. Then you have to pay £2.50-£2.95 for each adult on top of that. It’s so good though that if you manage your timings and make a day of it, you can make it feel worth it.

If you think you’ll be visiting often, an annual membership could be great value: its £90 for under-twos and £100 for children aged between three and 12. That includes two named adults as well. If you buy an annual membership on your first visit, you’ll get your admission price back.

Gambado Chelsea can get very busy and sometimes during the school holidays they have to restrict sessions to two and a half hours.

The centre is adjacent to Imperial Wharf overground station, which is just 6 minutes on the overground from Clapham Junction. The C3 bus also goes from Clapham Junction station and stops just outside. Car parking is also available at Imperial Wharf underground car park.
