Kemo Marriott offers personal training with a difference. Kemo is a movement specialist and an advocate of the increasingly accepted theory that muscle development is a reactive process, which means better movement leads to a better body.
Kemo’s training sessions are based around improving the way his clients move, so he ensures each exercise movement is 3 dimensional – forwards, backwards and side-to-side with rotation (as opposed to muscle growth using ‘body-building’ techniques on certain body parts). And moving in three dimensions often requires more energy to be utilised, increasing the potential to burn fat more efficiently.
Essentially Kemo trains the body as an integrated unit rather than separate parts of muscles.
Dancers, gymnasts and martial artists all train their bodies in this way, with intense and varied movement, which translates into healthy, well-proportioned aesthetically pleasing physiques.
Kemo says the exercises he gets his clients do are pretty unconventional and often unlike any exercises they’ve done before. And the benefits of his approach include better posture, improved muscle tone, a stronger core, less body fat and pain-free movement.
Kemo offers training sessions at Zinc Fitness (45 St John’s Hill, SW11 1TT), which has lovely facilities, including space to park your buggy.
Following a free trial session, you book monthly either 1, 2 or 3 sessions a week, which works out as £250 for 5 sessions in a month, £450 for 9 sessions or £650 for 13 sessions in a month.
Kemo also runs ‘Mums in Motion’ classes for 4 mums at a time, which cost £15 an hour. See our calendar or give Kemo a call for dates.
