Bremer Pilates offer pre and post-natal classes on a private and post-natal group basis throughout Clapham, Battersea and most of south west London, for the health of you and your baby. Suitable from 16 weeks of pregnancy onwards and from six weeks after the birth, the exercises are in the true Pilates style, with an emphasis on strengthening the vital deep postural muscles.
Set up by professional dancer and mum of two Miriam Bremer, Bremer’s safe and effective Pilates programme takes into account all the changes the pregnant body will experience. The aim is to make your pregnancy as comfortable as possible, preparing you for the rigours of labour and demands of motherhood.
As well as focusing on the deep postural core muscles, integral for comfortable and controlled birthing and post-natal comfort, special attention is paid to stabilising the joints and strengthening the upper body. Sessions also work the pelvic floor muscles in readiness for the first stage of labour and to gain greater control during delivery itself. By boosting your body’s lymphatic, circulatory and other systems, Pilates can additionally promote optimal health for both you and your baby, and has been proven to help you to get back into shape more quickly after the birth.
Classes are held at your home and are taught on a one-to-one basis for the reason that pregnancy is a unique and individual experience for every woman.
